What is the difference between 5211 Mounted Pad and 5211 Direct-Mounted Pad?What is the difference between 5211 Mounted Pad and 5211 Direct-Mounted Pad?
What is the difference between 5211 Mounted Pad and 5211 Direct-Mounted Pad? The 5211 Direct Mounted Pad and Mounted Pad are mainly used as a support for the Gear operators or Pneumatic and Electric Actuators, the difference among these two is that to install the Actuator to the 5211 mounted pad we must use some brackets and adapters for the installation, but the 5211 direct mounted pad will allow a direct installation.
Is a gate valve is an isolating valve? Is a gate valve is an isolating valve?
Is a gate valve is an isolating valve? yes, a gate valve is designed to operate in the fully opened or fully closed positions, globe and ball valves can be used to throttle flow. Isolation valves are us ed for diverting process media, facilitating maintenance, equipment removal and shutdown. The operation, application and construction of gate, globe, piston and diaphragm valves are studied in this tutorial
Is Stainless Steel Magnetic? Is Stainless Steel Magnetic?
Is Stainless Steel Magnetic? When it comes to classifying stainless steel as having magnetic properties, there is not a simple yes and no answer. Instead, the proper response would be to state that it depends. Here is some information about stainless steel that will help to identify situations in which this alloy exhibits magnetic properties, and when it does not. It is important to understand that stainless steel is not a pure magnetic metal. In fact, stainless steel is really a collective name for a steel alloy that is mixed with other metals in order to give it the properties that make the metal compound so desirable. For instance, the typical stainless steel contains just over ten percent of chromium.
Types of ball valveTypes of ball valve
Types of ball valve There are five general body styles of ball valves: single body, three piece body, split body, top entry, and welded. The difference is based on how the pieces of the valve—especially the casing that contains the ball itself—are manufactured and assembled.
What are Terofox Casting Surface Treatments for stainless materials such as CF8M / 1.4408?What are Terofox Casting Surface Treatments for stainless materials such as CF8M / 1.4408?
What are Terofox Casting Surface Treatments for stainless materials such as CF8M / 1.4408? (After sand-blasting) as post-treatment to better the surface finish, stainless steel valves will be “pickled” and “ultrasonic cleaned” as the finishing treatment procedures, in order to remove contaminants (e.g. iron filings, grease, etc) which might damage the surface/ chromium oxide layer; and assist the formation of a continuous chromium-oxide, passive film.
What passivation norms Terofox SS Casting Surface Treatments comply with? What passivation norms Terofox SS Casting Surface Treatments comply with?
What passivation norms Terofox SS Casting Surface Treatments comply with? Passivation treatment is excluded in our standard production procedures but available upon request. Terofox passivation treatment procedures (on Stainless Steel castings) adhere to ASTM A 967-01 norm: ※ Designation: ASTM A967-01 ※ 6.1.1.2 Nitric 2 (recommended treatment for S31600 per A967 Fig.X1.1): - 20-45% Nitric acid - Minimum of 30 minutes at range from 70 to 90 deg F (21 to 32 deg C)
CE markings for DN32 valves?CE markings for DN32 valves?
CE markings for DN32 valves? When it comes to PED 2014/68/EU directives interpretation, there is more to consider than only referring to the specified size “greater than DN32” in the regulations. It’s not simply the size range, one must also consider the certification range. Terofox valves now are certified to ANNEX III/Cat.III, module H which deals with PIPING, working with Table 6, 7, 8 mostly (less in table 9 aiming for DN200 size and above). In accordance with Table 7, if the outcome value: DN32*Pressure(bar) greater than >1000, then it would be within PED/CE regulation coverage.

What is the difference between Trunnion mounted ball valves and floating ball valves?	What is the difference between Trunnion mounted ball valves and floating ball valves?
What is the difference between Trunnion mounted ball valves and floating ball valves?	The key difference between a floating ball valve and a trunnion mounted ball valve is how each achieves a line seal. Trunnion mounted ball valves are uses a spring mechanism and/or line pressure assistance to drive the upstream seat against the stationary ball. The surface area exposed to the pressure through the relatively small passageway is actually just the back of the seat. The floating ball valve utilize natural line pressure to press and seal the ball against the downstream seat. The line pressure is exposed to a greater surface area - the entire upstream face of the ball, which is an area equal to the actual pipe size.

What is a valve?What is a valve?
What is a valve? A valve is a mechanical device which regulate either the flow or the pressure of the fluid. Its function can be stopping or starting the flow, controlling flow rate, diverting flow, preventing back flow, controlling pressure, or relieving pressure. Basically, the valve is an assembly of a body with connection to the pipe and some elements with a sealing functionality that are operated by an actuator. The valve can be also complemented whit several devices such as positioners, transductors, pressure regulators, etc.
Types of Valves - By operative of the valve closure memberTypes of Valves - By operative of the valve closure member
Types of Valves - By operative of the valve closure member • Quarter-turn valve (rotary valve): The closure member as well its shaft turn 0º-90º; from the fully-open position to the fully-closed position. They are quick opening/closure valves. Types of valves: Ball valve, Butterfly valve, Plug valve, Spherical valve. • Multi-turn valve (linear motion valves): The closure member has a linear displacement generally by turning its threaded stem several times. This operation is slow, but it gives accuracy and stability to position the closure member, which is necessary in some control valves. Types of valves: Gate valve, Globe valve, Fixed cone valve, Needle valve and Pinch valve.
Types of Valves - By functionality of the valveTypes of Valves - By functionality of the valve
Types of Valves - By functionality of the valve  Control: pressure / flow rate regulation.  Closure at over-speed flow. (i.e. immediate closure if downstream pipeline is broken by accident). • Overpressure protection. • Back flow prevention (check valve). • On/Off service.
What are Cryogenic valves? What are Cryogenic valves?
What are Cryogenic valves? Cryogenic Valves are used in the transmission of extreme low temperature services such as LNG (liquefied natural gas), LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), Nitrogen and cryogenic applications.
What is an Actuator? What is an Actuator?
What is an Actuator? An actuator is a type of motor for moving or controlling a mechanism or system. It is operated by a source of energy, usually in the form of an electric current or pneumatic pressure, and converts that energy into some kind of motion. (Open / Close)
What is a Limit Switch? What is a Limit Switch?
What is a Limit Switch? A limit switch is a device that is used to show the open or closed position of a valve.
What is a Solenoid valve? What is a Solenoid valve?
What is a Solenoid valve? A solenoid valve is a type of valve that uses an electrical current to actuate or shift a spool or cartridge consisting of a solenoid coil and tube assembly. Basically, this valve type uses an electric current to shift a pin to perform simple A/B tasks such as open/close valve spools
Three-way and four-way ball valvesThree-way and four-way ball valves
Three-way and four-way ball valves Three-way ball valves have an L- or T-shaped hole through the middle. The different combinations of flow are shown Terofox website. It is easy to see that a T valve can connect any pair of ports, or all three, together, but the 45 degree position which might disconnect all three leaves no margin for error. The L valve can connect the center port to either side port, or disconnect all three, but it cannot connect the side ports together. Multi-port ball valves with 4 ways, or more, are also commercially available, the inlet way often being orthogonal to the plane of the outlets. For special applications, such as driving air-powered motors from forward to reverse, the operation is performed by rotating a single lever four-way valve. The 4-way ball valve has two L-shaped ports in the ball that do not interconnect, sometimes referred to as an "×" port.

Types of Actuators By the type of movement • Multi-turn. • Quarter-turn. • Linear. • Lever. By the energy source • Manual • Electric: they can be driven by direct and alternate current. • Pneumatic: they use pressured air or gas to create motion. They are widely used in the industry due to their low cost. In case of failure they are easy to diagnose or repair in field, rather than electric actuators. • Hydraulic Functionality • On / Off valve service • Positioning to % open • Modulating to control changes on flow conditions • Emergency Shut Down (ESD) Other characteristics • Explosion-proof • Safety integrity level (SIL) • Enclosure: IP and NEMA.
